For the Head of Project Delivery to vary an existing ward of contract to Frankham Consultancy Group (FCG) from £42,468.71 to £44,678.71.

The initial award of the contract to FCG was approved at £33,950 based on a projected construction value of £350K. As the scheme developed an award of the contract was made to the successful contractor at £479,995.91. Approved change during the construction process has resulted in a final account at £512,907.10. This creates an increase to the multi-disciplinary consultancy fee and change in fee percentage.
• Original FCG commission £33,950 at 9.7% was based on £350K construction value.
• This variation offers a total fee of £42,468.71 at 8.28% based on £512,907.10 agreed final account.
FCG’s fee % has decreased from 9.7% to 8.27% to reflect value band CT5.
• A flat fee of £2210 needs to be added to the FCG consultancy fees for carrying out a survey of existing mechanical plant on one of the roofs. Making a total fee value of £44,678.71.

As FCG were commissioned to provide multi-disciplinary services for RIBA Stages 0-7, it would not offer the Council best value to seek an alternative resource to complete the works part way through construction.
