Decision:

Member’s agreement to pay Beveridge Associates their fees for the services of their mechanical/electrical engineer’s in checking the work at the new THFC stadium.

Reasons for the decision:

Haringey Building Control have requested assistance from Beveridge Associates in checking the mechanical and electrical installations at the new THFC stadium and in order to provide the required service. Haringey do not have the expertise and skills in house to carry out this function, so have chosen to use the expertise that Beveridge Associates have after dealing with the Olympics and the change to the Olympic Stadium to form a football stadium. We have previous experience of working with Beveridge and timing is now critical in order to be able to check and commission the works to enable sign off – going out to procurement for an alternative supplier (if available) would be time consuming and more expensive. Haringey BC have agreed to pay Beveridge Associates a fee to carry out this function. This report is to obtain a waiver to enable us to pay the Beveridge Associates fees for their inspections, whilst enabling us to make significant income and keeping full control over the work

Alternative options considered:

The alternative options would be to go to private companies who would be more expensive, not have the specific relevant knowledge and would take too long in procuring.
