Decision:

Request for approval for a waiver of CSO 8.03 (requirement to obtain at least three competitive quotations) in accordance with CSO 10.01.1(a) on the grounds set out in CSO 10.1.2(d.ii).

Request for approval of the award of contract to DisabledGo for the provision and maintenance of detailed access guides up to a maximum contract value of £31,277.95, comprised of 5 equal payments to commence in June 2017 and end on 31 May 2022.

Reasons for the decision:

DisabledGo is the leading provider of access information for disabled people in the UK. They work on behalf of Local Authorities, top Universities, NHS Trusts and private sector organisations to publish detailed access information on well over 125,000 places of interest across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. They offer a unique service and the provider was recommended to Haringey by service users who use the website when they visit other Local Authorities public buildings/museums/etc. The contract represents good value for money, as the costs have been apportioned for Haringey over the 5 years.

An access guide is an empowering tool that enables people to make informed choices about the services they want to access. This is a good practice proposal will benefit all user groups, including children's, and will be accessible to family carers.
