Description

Hornsey Town Hall Creative Trust, is the independent body set up in 2007 to oversee the regeneration of Hornsey Town Hall, the magnificent Grade II* Listed building in the heart of Crouch End.

HTH is to be redeveloped and reborn as a centre for the arts and learning.  It will be the new home of Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts; the Trust is working with the London Borough of Haringey to ensure public benefit and continued community access to the Town Hall

Outline of  work of organisation:

Building Preservation Trust with community benefit of cultural objectives.

 

Number of Members on the Board:

Ten: Two elected Council members of London Borough of Haringey and eight independent Board members.

 

Tasks undertaken by the Board:

Governance, planning for reuse of historic building. In due course fundraising and operations under the terms of the lease from London Borough of Haringey.

 

Responsibilities of individual Board Members:

Attendance, contribution to discussion and decision. Representing the interests of the organisation.

 

Any legal responsibilities of Members:

Directors of a limited liability company. Charity Trustee.

 

Regularity of meetings: Once a month.

 

Any training required: Not specifically. Good governance experience is helpful.
