The Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education is
established in accordance with Sections 390 – 392 of the
Education Act 1996 to advise the Local Education Authority upon
such matters connected with religious worship in community schools;
in particular, to advise on methods of teaching, the choice of
teaching materials and the provision of training for
teachers
