Decision details
Rokesley Mound Removal Works
Decision Maker: Assistant Director for Corporate Property and Major Projects
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
To request approval to award a contract to Provectus Remediation
Limited for £91,121.00 for the main contract works and to
approve a contingency sum of £15,000 for any unknown
abnormals found in the ground under the mounds at Rokesly Infant
& Junior School, pursuant to Contract Standing Order (CSO)
9.07.1 (c) and issuance of Letter of Intent pursuant to CSO
9.07.3.
Reasons for the decision:
The stage 1 feasibility report that was
produced by Fulkers identified that the mounds removal works should
be conducted at the school during the school holiday period.
The feasibility inspection was undertaken once the school
identified a concern to the mounds. An interim survey was
undertaken to validate the school’s concerns and this project
was awarded upon a visual inspection and limited site
investigations. As a consequence, abnormal risks may be identified
underneath the mounds that would affect the value of the contract
sum.
Alternative options considered:
There are no resources within the Council that have the capacity
along with the necessary experience, qualifications and expertise
to deliver this service in house.
The works were competitively tendered, four contractors were
invited to tender with 4 bids received. These responses have been
evaluated by Fulker’s who are appointed to provide
multi-disciplinary design services. Their recommendation for an
award is noted in this report.
