Decision Maker: Director for Adult Social Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

That the Director of Adult Social Services approves the extension of the existing contract for IMCA, DoLS RPR and IMHA for 12 months, as allowed under CSO 10.21 (a).

Reasons for the decision:

This decision is based on the following factors:
• The Council has a statutory obligation to provide IMCA, DoLS RPR and IMHA services and the provider is currently supplying a good standard of service.
• The existing contract has provision in place for 24 months extension (in 12 month instalments).
• The contract is a joint-agreement between Haringey, Enfield and Barnet. Barnet and Enfield hold contracts for care act advocacy and children’s advocacy which lapse over the next two financial years. This extension allows all three boroughs to explore the potential to re-commission all forms of advocacy collectively to yield further economies of scale.

Alternative options considered:

No alternative options considered because Enfield and Barnet have agreed extensions and have no intention of conducting a re-commissioning exercise at this stage.
