Additional Information
I was born in Aberdeen and went to school in Scotland before doing a degree in Modern History and Economics at Oxford University.
On leaving university I joined the then Scottish based Logistics business Christian Salvesen who promptly posted me to the USA where I spent nine years working in all aspects of transport and distribution.
While in the USA I met Janet, my wife, and when work brought her back to Europe at the beginning of the 1990s I followed.
During the 1990s we got married, moved to Haringey and had two children. I continued to work in Distribution and Logistics including spells running a business in France and working as an IT Director.
In 2000 I joined the three founders of Ocado, the on line grocery delivery business, as Logistics Director. We started with nothing and over the following five years we built a real and substantial business. During 2005 I moved into a Non Executive position with Ocado in order to spend more time on other interests, of which family, the community and singing top the list. I have since worked on a freelance basis for a number of other companies and with Crouch End Festival Chorus have sung at some amazing events.
Elected in May 2006 I enjoy the opportunity of working for and with the people of Hornsey.
