Councillor Lyn Weber

Originally from rural Herefordshire I am married and have one teenage son.  I came to London to train as a nurse, and then moved into the commercial medical side ending up as a self-employed pre-sales researcher working with specialist software companies.

A resident of Haringey for the past 19 years I know the local area and community quite well.  During this time I have been a Parent Governor of two of the local schools and was one of the first two Parent Governor Representatives on Haringey's Education Scrutiny Committee where I gained a unique insight into how the Council manages, amongst other things, education.

I am often involved with the organisation of local community, church and school projects, small craft fairs through to full scale amateur productions.  Invariably I rope the whole family in and we can often be spotted working at a bar, producing programmes or rallying the troops to meet a fast approaching deadline.  Those of you who get involved in voluntary projects will know exactly what I am talking about.  I enjoy challenges; sodkuo is favourite at the moment, and problem solving.

As a family we enjoy meeting up with friends, the range of cuisine at our local restaurants, travel and having a go at most new experiences - with one exception - I am not keen on heights!
