Additional Information

I was born in Barbados and have lived in Haringey since 1970.
I gained my BSc masters degree at Salford University and a master's degree and graduate teaching qualification at London University before entering the teaching profession in 1983.

I am currently a secondary school teacher in Newham. I am committed to education, having spent 16 years as a chair or vice chair at Highgate Wood School and almost 11 years chairing the borough's Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education. I have also held a range of other governorships at various schools, North Middlesex Polytechnic and the College of North East London.

Outside of work I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of the African Caribbean Leadership Council and British Caribbean Association.

My interests include cricket, music, athletics, volleyball and international politics and religion.
