Additional Information

I am a North Londoner, with great grandparents who lived in Haringey. Coming from a single-parent family, schooling was at a Rudolph Steiner nursery, followed by 11 years at the progressive co-educational Bedales School in Petersfield. I took an Art History degree at the University of East Anglia and became a curator at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.

Returning to London, I became an Exhibition Organiser for the Arts Council of Great Britain dealing with major exhibitions at the Hayward Gallery. Taking a certificate in Typographic Design at the London College of Printing.

I met my future husband and in 1977, we formed a design partnership that is still running. My husband of 26 years is fellow Haringey Councillor Martin Newton, and together we have a grown up son.

My hobbies are walking last year we completed the London LOOP and the New River walk reading fiction and studying art and architecture.
