I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. I studied law at the University of Cape Town and the London School of Economics. I was politically active in South Africa and remain involved in Southern African causes. I now own and run an international information business and I am also director of several service businesses. I co-authored "British Intelligence and Covert Action;" "KGB/CIA"; "Global Intelligence The World's Secret Services Today" as well as three chapters of "Dirty Work 2: The CIA in Africa." Since 2002 I have been a Liberal Democrat Councillor for Muswell Hill. I am actively involved in various human rights campaigns across the globe.
I was a Non Executive Director of NHS Haringey from April 2007 - 2011 and Chaired the Equality and Diversity Committee.
