London Heathside Athletics Club have been the local athletics club based at the track for many years.
The clocks will go back this weekend (30th October 2011), and evenings will be dark from 5pm. Our club members and track users which include all ages from 8 to 60 are now being having to train in darkness. That is the members who are comfortable entering into the dark park.
Since the late 90's when the flood lights were first installed Finsbury Park has been transformed from frightening place which endured regular shootings, to a community facility with regular track and gym users.
We have an electrical engineer available to assist us in getting the lights working again (if the council cannot resolve the issue), however we are being told it is too expensive to fix the light, but cannot get a clear written explanation about what the precise problem is.
On reaching 2200 signatures A debate will be held at full Council
