(Report of the Chief Executive – To be introduced by the Leader): To set out proposals for the creation of a Children’s Trust within the Haringey Strategic Partnership to replace the Children & Yung People’s Strategic Partnership Board.

We noted that the Joint Area Review report into Haringey’s Children Services had identified the need to improve governance of children safeguarding arrangements and that the report set out proposals for the creation of a Children’s Trust within the Haringey Strategic Partnership to replace the Children and Young People’s Partnership. We also noted that this would help strengthen the commitment and focus of strategic partners on the needs of children and the 5 outcomes within Every Child Matters.

RESOLVED:

That approval be granted to the proposals as set out in the report for creating a Children’s Trust and that, following further discussion and negotiations with Strategic Partners, a further report setting out the detailed governance framework and partnership agreement for the Children’s Trust be submitted to our next meeting.
