Contribution to London Housing Directors Grant 2022-2025

Decision Maker: Assistant Director for Housing

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

In accordance with Contract Standing Order (CSO) 10.01.1(b), the Assistant Director of Housing is recommended to approve under their delegated authority, the waiver of CSO 8.03 to directly contribute to the London Housing Directors Grant (LHDG) the maximum total of £22,500.

This will be invoiced at £7500 per year for 2022/23 2023/24 and 2024/25.

Reasons for the decision:

The London Housing Directors’ Group (LHDG) work programme and fund renewal was agreed to continue funding at an annual rate of £7500 per borough. Haringey council have agreed to continue to fund for the following years: 2022/23 – 2023/24 – 2024/25.

The contribution is required to continue to support the London Housing Directors Group (LHDG) new programmes and sustain existing shared projects and support collaborative working between housing services and innovation in addressing shared challenges.

Alternative options considered:

The Council could decide not to contribute to the LHDG. This option was rejected because it would undermine the Council’s capacity to participate in and benefit from London-wide good practice and funding initiatives and would therefore undermine the quality of the Council’s housing services.
